Tunisian Crochet Zelda Tapestry
I didn't make this, Mr. Nicholas did. But it's pretty amazing, so I'm sharing anyway :) Project page here.

Purple Butterfly
Remember the purple bag my boyfriend made as a Christmas gift for his Mom? Well look what he made as a package top:
Isn't he just the cutest ever?

Runner
This is just a silly little thing. My boyfriend's grandmother (so sweet) gave me a big bag of yarn and patterns, and in the bag was a couple of pieces she had started, but decided not to finish. I studied the piece and was able to finish the stitch to complete the row, which left me with a long, narrow piece of cloth. I could have pulled it all apart and used the yarn, but I thought it would be nice to have a runner that was made by someone I knew-- I always like looking around the room and being reminded of the people I love! So here's the finished piece:

Crochet Flower
I had some extra black yarn from the scarf. And so I did this.
I made my life a lot harder by varying the stitches from single crochet to double crochet and treble, and spiraling in the same chain row, but you could easily mimic it by doing a long chain of singles, doubles, and trebles and then sewing it into a flower shape.
Although why you would want to is beyond me. What do I do with this thing? I'll just have to set it aside and think about it, I think.

Ruffle Scarf
This scarf was made using the rest of the yarn from the cozy and hat that my boyfriend's Mom bought me. I used a Lion Brand pattern just like for the hat, so I would be sure to use a pattern that would suit the texture of the yarn.
I adore how the scarf came out, although I haven't quite figured out what to wear it with (which I will have to wait to figure out until I pull out my winter/fall clothes from storage). The only bad thing was that this yarn was very difficult to crochet (because it's not a smooth textured yarn, the stitches tend to be difficult to see) especially on the chain row. If you do want to work with Homespun for crochet, you'll need lots of patience!

Hats
I don't wear hats. I've always thought they look weird on me, so I've just never gone there. But now I live in Berkeley, and it's significantly cooler than Southern California or Central California, so I decided I'd give it a try. I had quite a bit of extra yarn left over from the Cozy, so I picked a Lion Brand pattern that suited the Lion Brand Yarn.
I actually really enjoy Lion Brand patterns. They do a good job of suiting the yarn Lion Brand makes, and they can be used with other yarns, also, in case you're not a huge fan of Lion Brand.
Anyhow, I think I might have been wrong about hats not suiting me:

More Apron
So after I ran out of the crochet thread my boss gave me, my boyfriend's Mom took me shopping for more yarn, and one of the things I bought was more thread!! And since we were at Micheal's, I found the exact teal thread I had been using before! So now my apron looks like this:
And it's still not done :/ I think I'll try going by Micheal's again and picking up the same brown and a cream. I think it will look nice...but who knows when that will happen!

Updated Blanket 5
Here's a little update of the Circle Blanket:
The yarn I added is the very little I had left after making the Cup Cozy!

Updated Crocheted Apron
Remember the apron band? Well just like I said I would, I spent part of the money my boss gave me on crochet thread. So now I'm here:
And out of crochet thread again! So when I have a yarn budget, I'll be heading out to buy more. I think I'll just try to find colors that coordinate. It's too hard to try to match them exactly.

Updated Blanket 4
How long has it been since I updated on the Circle Blanket??
I put it on a bed this time, so the size shows. I clearly have a lot to go!

Crocheted Shopping Bag
So ages and ages ago I bought crocheting thread because I thought it was lace weight yarn. After I realized what a dumb idea that was, I just stuck the thread away thinking that someday I might come up with something to do with it. And here it is:
A crochet grocery bag! So this is what it looks like with groceries in it.

This is what it looks like empty, and here it is:
...folded up for carrying! Cool, huh?

Crocheted Apron
So this is another work in progress, because I ran out of crochet thread!
I wanted an apron that I could use, so I picked this pattern, but I've decided that it's a very good thing that my Aunt bought me a perfect one for graduation, because this one is going to be more of a "show" apron-- you know, where the company arrives and you put on a pretty apron to pretend like you've been working all day and didn't get even one speck of tomato sauce on you?
Anyway, here's the progress so far:

So for graduation, my boss at HUTE got me a gift certificate to a yarn shop, so I'm pretty sure I'll spend it on more crochet thread. I'm thinking chocolate brown is a must, and maybe creme? We'll see what they have, I suppose :)

Tiny Turtle
My Mom loves turtles; She's had one named Speedy (who hibernated and then did not un-hibernate afterward) and currently has one named touche. Way back when, I knitted her a miniature turtle, but more recently I found a crocheted turtle pattern and had to try it.
The head turned out kind of wonky, but I'm still pretty happy with it :)

Updated Doilies 6
You recognize these, of course. As you can see, I ran out of pink yarn, which brings me to a standstill (for now). I put a knot in the last stitch and will undo it when I have more yarn to use to finish this last pink one.
Although I'm out of these two yarns that were my original stash, you'll be happy to know that these doilies are made in the same weight yarn as the brown sweater! So when I'm done with that, I will have (maybe) some brown to tone down these baby soft colors.
I think I am supposed to not like combining different fibers, but I am pretty sure I will like how the fuzzy alpaca goes with the smooth acrylic. And you know what I like best about yarn crafts? If I don't like it, I just pull it out and use the alpaca somewhere else. Voila!

Updated Blanket 3
As you can see, the blanket is getting new rows by the week. However, it may have to be put on a little bit of a hold-- I'll tell you why tomorrow!!

Updated Doilies 5
I'm sure you're tired of seeing these by now, but I'm really happy with how they're turning out. As you can see, I've run out of the blue and am now using my pink sport weight yarn. I don't mind that it's not entirely one way or the other, because the whole point of this blanket is to be a little bit crazy. I only have a little of the pink left, so I might not be able to do a whole pink one at all, but we'll just see what happens!

Updated Doilies 4
So here is another update on the doilies! As you can see, the more I made, the less cohesive the group becomes, but I'm just not thinking about it (isn't that the best way to deal with problems like these?).
Anyway, the doilies are fun to make and a nice break from large projects, so I'm not complaining a bit. I'm almost out of blue yarn, so I'll be starting on my stashed pink next!
Previous posts abound in this blog.

Updated Blanket (Again)
I just wanted you to see how it's going! Now that it's getting bigger, it seems to go slower, but I'm still REALLY happy with it!

Updated Doilies 3
So as you can see, there are now three sizes of doilies, and only one of them lies flat! but I'm still not worrying about the whole situation. I'll keep updating on them every time I make a new one. Hopefully someday they'll be suitable for a blanket or some other large project!
